The K&Q Poker Rib Raid - Saturday 12th November 2011
**Please note, this is info for the 2011 event.**
This is a fun new event, involving Ribs capable of a minimum speed of 20 knots setting off from Hamble to 5 different buoys in the Solent where they collect a poker card and receive the co-ordinates of the next buoy. They then return and meet up at The King & Queen, to see which team has the winning poker hand. Wild Cards and the Joker in the pack will also win prizes, all generously sponsored by JM Yachting. All money raised goes to the Hamble Lifeboat.
Schedule
09:30 hrs Breakfast available at The King & Queen
10:30 hrs Compulsory Event Briefing at The King & Queen and includes course for leg 1
11:30 hrs Commence near Bald Head buoy - Southampton Water
14.30 hrs Arrive back at the King & Queen to lodge collected envelopes and open Poker cards
16:00 hrs Prizes and festivities commence
BBQ and music will be available during the rest of the day.
Rules
Important - This is NOT a race.
Owners must comply with the Rules for Prevention of Collisions at Sea.
Local Authority bye laws regarding Speed Limits must be obeyed.
Life jackets must be worn at all times.
The course for the event with be run over five legs.
Leg 1 course will be handed to you at the event briefing.
On completion of each Leg, a sealed envelope must be collected from the control boat together with the course for the next leg.
Keep all the sealed envelopes and hand them into the King & Queen bar. Do not open the envelopes.
Ensure your RIB is fully fuelled prior to the Event Briefing.
You will be expected to navigate round buoys in the Central Solent, please have suitable charts - GPS co-ordinates of the marks to be used will be supplied.
