Dear Visitor
So schools are closing for the Holidays, but where is our summer? On a brighter note we have plenty planned to try and ignore the fact that we're missng out on the sun most days.
Steak nights are sold out every Thursday so please do call and book - we can only do so many! Likewise Sunday Roasts continue to sell out even earlier than ever before - so booking is essential if you require a roast. Thank you for great support - last Sunday we were sold out of roasts before 2pm!
This weekend starts on Friday (22nd July) with a Pink Party in aid of Breast Cancer - it's the Women's Open Keel Boat Championships (Yachtie Tottie) and they are having their weather briefing in The Lower Deck at the K&Q 7.00pm- so please wear pink to support a very worthy cause - pink drinks will be the order of the day and a percentage of every pink drink purchased will go to the charity. There wil be a BBQ available from 6.30pm @£5 p.p
On Saturday 23rd July we have a large private function in the Lower Deck - fully booked for meals again! Drinkers welcome as usual of course.
Then on Sunday 24th July the Hamble Village pubs are competing for the covete d John Merricks Trophy - a limited overs cricket match at the Roy Underdown Pavillion - The K&Q Team , "The Master Batters" are the current champions - and of course will be striving to be the best again - so please come on down and support your team. In the evening we will be having a wonderful Folk Group called "Three Penny Bit" who arrived last week unannounced in a vintage bus and entertained our Sunday Lunchers.

Tuesday 26th July is our next Food & Wine Matching Evening. We are priviledged to have three "Beach Life" Wines - a great concept (come and see for yourself), a local Hampshire Wine as well as Wight Vodka and a Port to compliment Mikey's Summer Food ideas - 6 courses plus 6 Wines @£25 p/p -always a great event with numbers limited to 24 you have to book early as we have already sold several tickets after only 2 hours.
If anyone is interested the next Hamble Buisness Group meeting is on Thursday 28th at 7.30am - it's a small strong group of local business people interested in networking locally across the peninsula - cost is £5 p.p inlcudes coffees & pastry and contacts galore! Finished by 8.30 am so you till get to go to work.
On Friday the 29th July we have live music - a band called "The Inter-Continentals" - really funny guys who were very entertaining the last time they played here. BBQ will be availalbe.
It's then the week before Cowes Week and the build up to the Fastnet Race 2011. We wish all our favourite boats, especially ones flying our flag, lots of luck. Also special congratulations to our first King & Queen "Watered and Supported Yacht", Tonnerre de Breskens, National Champions IRC Class 1. A great effort yet again, celebrated in style with zest on Sunday Evening in the pub.
Very soon we will be publishing the latest batch of pictures with the K&Q flag flying in weird and wonderful places around the world - varying from the Antarctic to the BVI's to sailing down the Solent - on the Queen Victoria !
Let's hope we get to see some sun soon now - our garden is great on a summer's afternoon sadly we've mostly had use of our extended gazebo area so far this season.
SEE YOU SOON
THE QUEEN
