What a great introduction to Summer!
To start with a great big thank you to everyone who contributed in making The K&Q Pursuit Yacht Race such a great day and in so doing raise so much money and support for our local Lifeboat crew. We will in time, announce the amount raised, but it is over £2000. What a fun day was had by all who attended. We started with breakfast at the pub, complimentary Wight Vodka Bloody Mary's, a great day sailing on the Solent, some amazing fancily-dressed crews, some very stylish roundings of the Wight Vodka buoy, a very well-supported auction and then lively music by some of the members of Frankie & The Squealers, who got the crowd up and dancing! What more could we ask for? Thank you - it was a great success.

Lately the pub has been so busy, especially as the evenings have been longer, lighter and more lovely and we hope we have still managed to be your great local. You will notice new bar staff (Sally & Lucy Kate) & waiters (Max & Adam) and we welcome them - Amy has stepped in, trained by her son Tom, our Barista, and is helping getting The Lower Deck Coffee Shop steaming! The coffee is freshly roasted especially for us, by Limini Coffee and has been a wonderful addition to the pub. The kitchen has not been able to keep up with the demand in food, and because we serve largely fresh food, we have actually sold out on several occasions lately! We welcome Chris to the kitchen team - what a good job they are doing. We are now serving food most evenings (not Mondays yet) - but please do still book, as even on some week nights we have been fully booked, before service has even started. Thursday's Steak Night continues to be a sell-out every week and our "possibly the best " Sunday Roast is served on Sunday from 12 to 5pm - again please do book as we are often sold out by 4 o'clock.
The Easter Weekend is upon us - we will be open as usual - every hour that you would expect a decent establishment to serve you! We will be having a BBQ on Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings.
The Royal Wedding : Being a "Royal" Establishment we are having a white-themed garden party with live coverage throughout. If you like, wear white to our garden party - selected white coloured drinks & cocktails will be on special offer all day long, including Prossecco! At 5.00pm one of our favourite musicians, Stu Simpson, with some of Frankie & The Squealers, will be setting up to entertain you with live music until 7.00pm. BBQ & cucumber sandwiches available all day - We are looking forward to a wonderful "wedding" day - please come and join us.
The K&Q Flag is now being flown AND photographed all over the world - it's been fun to see our flag flying in exotic locations (wish we were there!) - if you fly our flag and send us a picture - you qualify for a jug of Rum & Coke on your return - see some examples on the "Friends" link on our website.
