A lot is going on here at The K&Q! On Thirsty Thursday 31st March we are opening our "Coffee Shop" in The Lower Deck. We have a brand new Italian Rancillo Espresso Coffee Machine and for a week you qualify for a "Two For One " offer, as newsletter readers. Please mention the code word "Limini" to qualify for the offer. Be sure to get in before April 5th to qualify. We have coffee roasted especially for us, and we have Tom, one of the top Baristas in the country, keeping a beady eye on our quality, and training our staff. Layered Lattes, Cappucinos, Espressos and Flat Whites, great Hot Chocolates as well as Rum Coffees, Irishes etc. Drink your coffee in our garden, The Lower Deck or the pub... Whatever, Where ever...
Of couse you all know it's The K&Q Charity Pursuit Race on Saturday 2nd April.
If you haven't entered and still want to help a really worthy cause please donate a prize, an item or service for the auction. We already have some rather interesting auction items...., A Bottle of Wight Vodka, a 3 hour domestic clean by "Fresh as a Daisy" (Sarah Lehines who may be dressed up for this!) A tour by an officer (In uniform!!!) of the Naval Dockyard including a cream tea, (I'm Personally Bidding on this one!!) a three course dinner for 6, cooked by Carrie, including ingredients, in your home! A Meal for two at Limewood, valued at £100 donated by Colin Wray. Then you could bid for 30 x Bacon Sandwiches from Bob Deakin who says that's what he can do best!!! Can you help? Please add to our already great list of sevices - It's all for The Hamble Lifeboat - so please get involved. If you have forgotton to enter Entry forms are on our website or just pop in, one of our lovely bar staff will help you fill in your forms!!
On Saturday a cooked Breakfast is available from 8.30am - 10.00am @ £5 for Queen's, one of everything and £6.50 for a King's, two of everything - Eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, toast. There is also a complimentary shot of Wight Vodka Bloody Mary with every breakfast ordered!!! All boats start between 10.30 and 11.00 am and the race usually lasts about 2 hours, then back to the pub, BBQ & garden party, Prizegiving & Auction at 4.00pm (Please attend as this is where we get more money in for the Lifeboat) with live music (some of Frankie & the Squealers) at 5.30 ish. Anyone who can't attend - please send a donation - money, bottle or a service - it all helps and you never know when you may need the local Lifeboat to help you!
Lastly - one for your diaries - we are having our next Food & Wine Matching Evening - always sold out - on Wed 13th April - It's Italian Evening - with Food by Mikey & wine selected by our sommelier, Julien Durand from Heritage Wines - £30 p.p 5 x courses with 5 x wines.
