Dear Visitor,
THE KING & QUEEN CHARITY YACHT RACE THIS SATURDAY 10th APRIL 2010
Thank you for entries as well as the generous donations we have received for the race this Saturday.
Now we just have to hope for fair winds and a great day on the water.
We are pleased to annouce that Wadsworth Brewery have offered every competitor a pint of 6x, Brugal Rum sponsored a rum punch to get the party going, Wight Vodka have a bottle of the good stuff for The "Most Stylish" Rounding of the Wight Vodka buoy as well a bottle for the auction where Mr Steve Hodges auctionaire extrordinaire will be extracting as much money from you as possible. (Last year Mr Martin Noisy Burtinshaw bought a bottle for £70 - can we top this?) Other items up for auction are a tender, very kindly donated by Eurof & Barbara Philips, a beautiful print of Hamble by famous local artist Barry Lester. Mr Chumley Pride of "Strings & Things" has offered some generous discount vouchers to class winners, as well as a day out clay pigeon shooting. Then we have bags and anti-fouling and lots of bottles to give away. The "Second to Last" finisher gets a bottle of Goslings Black Seal donated by Mike Penny. Hopefully everyone will come away with something including having had a great day on the water followed by a party at the pub.
